The former BET Soundstage Club of Pleasure Island is being demolished to make way for the newly announced “Edison” coming soon the Disney Springs Landing. We stopped by the old club to snap some final pictures before this piece of Disney History is lost forever!
Last year we captured some pictures of the BET Soundstage Club, including inside the back upstairs window and the BET Soundstage Club sign. You can find these in our “Remembering Pleasure Island” blog post!
The Edison is described as “a lavish ‘Industrial Gothic’-style restaurant, bar and nighttime destination that will feature exceptional classic American food, artisanal craft cocktails and unparalleled live entertainment.”
The building looks to have that fresh ‘Landing’ look that is the norm for the Disney Springs architecture. The Edison features a brick-and-mortar smokestack that will read “EDISON” in neon letters as well. As far as the American cuisine goes, this will be a great and needed addition to Disney Springs. The only other current all-American cuisine restaurant is Planet Hollywood. Let’s hope The Edison will deliver Splitsville-level classic American food to the Landing!
Well, that is all the latest from the BET Soundstage Club demolition and The Edison construction for now! Anyone looking forward to The Edison? Let us know in the comments below! One thing is for sure, Disney Springs is just getting better and better!
